An AI Product Video Checklist Before You Publish

talkpixnotesSep 22, 2026

An AI-generated product video should be checked against the real product before it reaches customers. A visually convincing clip can still contain an altered label, an invented feature, or a misleading demonstration.

Use the following checklist to decide whether a video is ready to publish, needs revision, or should be replaced with real footage.

Disclosure: I’m Ege Alp, founder of TalkPix. This guide was prepared with AI assistance and includes a link to our product video tool.

1. Compare the product with the reference

Pause the video at the beginning, middle, and end. Compare each view with the original product photo.

Check:

  • Shape and proportions.
  • Color and material.
  • Label wording and logo.
  • Number of parts or compartments.
  • Included accessories.

Look for changes during movement, not just in the opening frame. A bottle may begin correctly and develop a different cap as the camera moves.

2. Separate visual atmosphere from product evidence

A generated background can suggest a setting. It should not be treated as proof that the product performs a particular action.

If the clip shows a bag expanding, a cleaner removing a stain, or a mechanism opening, verify that the demonstration accurately represents the real item. When the action matters to the buying decision, real footage is a better source of evidence.

Do not publish a generated demonstration simply because it looks plausible.

3. Read every caption independently

Watch once without sound and read the text as a shopper would.

Confirm that prices, quantities, product names, and offers are correct. Check whether a caption implies a guarantee that the product page does not support.

Replace vague claims with verified details. “Includes three compartments” is more specific than “solves every storage problem.”

4. Listen without watching

Play the audio while looking away from the screen.

Can you understand the product name? Does the spoken message match the captions? Does the ending cut off a word?

This separate pass makes it easier to notice pronunciation problems or information that the visuals distracted you from.

5. Check the destination page

The call to action should match what visitors will find after clicking.

“Choose your color” should lead to available color options. “See the dimensions” should lead to accessible measurements. Remove any offer that has expired.

A polished video cannot compensate for an inconsistent destination.

6. Record a clear decision

Use three outcomes:

Publish: The product, message, and destination are accurate.

Revise: A specific issue can be addressed, such as an incorrect caption or an awkward ending.

Replace: The clip misrepresents an important product detail or demonstrates something you cannot verify.

Write down the reason before generating another version. That turns the next attempt into a targeted revision.

Where TalkPix fits

TalkPix’s product video ad tool supports creating an ad concept from a product image and a creative brief.

The checklist applies after generation, regardless of which tool you use. Generating a clip and approving it for customer-facing use are separate decisions.
